Autopsy to Determine Death of Young Inmate at Bonne Terre Prison

(Bonne Terre) An autopsy is being conducted to determine the death of a young man doing time at the prison in Bonne Terre.

The Missouri Department of Corrections says 26-year-old Corey Murphy was pronounced dead Wednesday morning.

Murphy was serving a 25-year sentence out of St. Louis County for kidnapping and first degree robbery.

Murphy had been in prison since January of 2020.
