Boating accident on the Mississippi River injures two Crystal City residents

(Jefferson County) Two people from Crystal City were injured in a single vessel boating accident in Jefferson County on Saturday evening. The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Water Patrol Division reports a 1997 GTZ Seadoo being operated by 40-year-old Tim Nguyen was boating on the Mississippi River, near the 147-mile marker when he failed to keep a proper lookout and struck a wind dyke. Nguyen received minor injuries while the occupant, Katie Nguyen suffered serious injuries. Katie Nguyen was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis and Tim was treated and released on the scene by Joachim Plattin Ambulance Personnel. The boating accident occurred around 6:30 Saturday evening.
