(HILLSBORO) The Hillsboro Hawks and the Lutheran South Lancers will hit the hardwood Friday night at Hillsboro High School to decide the Class 4 District 3 boys championship on KJFF.

The 2nd seeded Lancers beat 4th-seeded Rockwood Summit in the semis on Tuesday, 67-55, and enter the game with a 16-10 record. On a per-position basis, the Lancers and Hawks are about even in height, athleticism, and shooting ability.

Lancers head coach Brian Lind agrees that whichever team rebounds the ball better, could have a considerable advantage.

The one-seeded Hawks won their semifinal match over rival Festus on Tuesday, 57-43, improving their record to 22-4. Hawks head coach Dan Johnson also sees similarities with Lutheran South’s personnel and turns his focus to their defense.

Hillsboro and Lutheran South will tip-off from Hillsboro High School at 7 p.m. on Friday. Listen to the action on AM 1400 KJFF beginning at 6:45 with the Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show. The winner will advance to the Sectionals on Tuesday to play the winner of Gateway and St. Mary’s out of District 4.
