Byrnes Mill Man Dead Following Car Accident In Jefferson County

(Jefferson County) A man from Byrnes Mill died in a car accident in Jefferson County Tuesday evening. 61-year-old Kenneth Downey was westbound on Franks Road at Sandy Bluff Court in a ’97 Chrysler Town & Country when he ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree. Downey was pronounced dead at the scene by North Jefferson County Ambulance District personnel at 7:23 p.m. Tuesday evening.
