Central Christmas Tournament Kicks Off In Park Hills
The number 1-seed Central Rebels put up 30 in the first quarter of their opening round game in their own Bob Sechrest Central Christmas Boys Tournament in Park Hills. The Rebels  never looked back and ended up downing 16-seed Arcadia Valley 83 to 43. The game was broadcast on J-98.

And then the multiple Regional Radio Dream Team athlete and Central leader Jobe Bryant showed why he’s one of the best hoopsters in southeast Missouri with the Steak and Shake of Festus Shake It Up Play of the Game.

Jobe Bryant led Central with 24 in the game. He was also named our Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game. Arcadia Valley’s Dylan Mueller had an outstanding game. He led all scorers with 27. Central advances to the quarterfinals which will be played Thursday starting at 4 o’clock. A.V. will now move to the consolation bracket.
In our second game of the night, the 9-seed Steelville Cardinals downed the 8-seed Jefferson Blue Jays 65 to 46. Despite trailing for a while, Owen McPeters eventually tipped the odds in the Cardinals’ favor with a three pointer.

Cameron Brown solidified the lead even further with a dunk, putting the score at 53-40.

Steelville will face Central on Thursday in the championship quarter-finals. Jeffersos has moved on to the consolation quarter-finals and will face Arcadia Valley on Wednesday.
In the third game, the 4-seed Hillsboro Hawks dominated the 13-seed Crystal City Hornets with a final score of 71-29. Here’s Cooper McGrath with an And1 in the fouth quarter.

To finish off the night, the 5-seed Potosi Trojans took on the 12-seed Herculaneum Blackcats and finished with a triumphant 90-31 victory. Carter Whitley ended up being the star of the show, with 18 points on the board.

Potosi advances to the championship quarter-finals and will face Hillsboro on Thursday. Herculaneum falls into the consolation bracket, and will face Crystal City on Wednesday. J-98 will carry more first round coverage Wednesday evening.
