(PARK HILLS, Mo.) – It was an increased role for running back and defensive back Dayshawn Welch in 2019, and the sophomore Central Rebel did not disappoint.

Over 1500 yards rushing on offense and three interceptions on defense highlighted what turned out to be a Dream Team season.

Welch says making the Dream Team is even cooler to do at his age.

Welch wanted to credit head coach Kory Schweiss for helping him get better.

In addition to the Dream Team selection, Welch was also the Offensive MVP in the MAFC White Conference.

However, he says his defense is just as important.

The Central Rebels went 7-4 this year and made it to the district semifinals.
