Central Girls Basketball Wins Sixth Straight District Title
(PARK HILLS) The Central girls basketball team survived an early scare against Ste. Genevieve, but were able to claim the Class 4 District 2 championship by a score of 65-40 last (Friday) night. The Dragons jumped out to an early 7-0 run, and would lead 17-10 after the first quarter.

Central would rally back in the second and take a 30-26 lead to halftime. In the third quarter, the Lady Rebels outscored Ste. Genevieve 18 to 6.

Taylor O’Connor was one of three Central players to finish in double figures, joining Allysa O’Connor and Khloe Dischbein, who led the team with 18 points. Chloe Staffen and Sadie Greminger led the Dragons with 11 points each. Central head coach Aaron Tyree shared how his team turned the game around after the early adversity.

Ste. Genevieve head coach Jordanna Walk-Robinson reflected on the season and the week after the game.

Ste. Genevieve finishes with a 13-15 record. Central wins their 6th straight district title. They’ll host Cape Notre Dame on Monday night.
