(PARK HILLS) The 63rd Annual Bob Sechrest Jr. Central Christmas Tournament comes to an end on Monday with boys and girls third place and championship games on J-98.

For the girls championship, the top-seeded Central Lady Rebels look for their 6th consecutive tournament title with 2nd-seeded South Iron hoping to play the spoiler.

The Panthers will get a second crack at Central this season and coach Lawrence Graves believes they can pull it off if they play smarter.

Central head coach Josh Mapes’ approach to the game is just for his girls to take pleasure in being able to play in a championship.

The 10-0 Lady Rebels and the 9-1 Lady Panthers are scheduled to tip-off at 6.

The boys title bout features top-seed Farmington at 7-1 and 3-seed South Iron at 11-0. Panthers head coach Dusty Dinkins has great respect for the Knights and their big 3 with Tycen Gray, Cole Gerstenberger, and Cole Laurence.

Knights head coach Terry Noble knows it’ll take a complete game effort to get their 2nd championship in three years.

Farmington and South Iron are the final game of the tournament and are scheduled to tip-off at 7:30. The third place games involve 7-2 Ste Genevieve and 7-3 Arcadia Valley on the girls side and a pair of Jefferson County rivals for the boys with 7-3 Festus and 8-4 Hillsboro.

We’ll start our coverage of the last day of the Central Christmas Tournament with the girls third place match and that’ll begin at 2:45 on J-98.
