Citizens Can Comment Now on Two Plans for Crane Lake Project in Iron County

(Glover) The comment period is underway for citizens to give their feedback on the Crane Lake Dam Safety and Rehabilitation Project located in Iron County.

Becky Ewing is a ranger with the Mark Twain National Forest.

She says they have put together two proposed plans.

Ewing describes the other plan.

The dam of the 100-acre recreational lake in Iron County has not been in compliance with federal dam safety regulations.

For safety, the lake level has been partially lowered since 2015.

To comment, call the U.S. Forest Service Potosi/Fredericktown Ranger District office in Potosi at 573-438-5427.

The comment period will end on November 15th.
