Coronavirus Numbers on the Rise in Jefferson County

(Jefferson County) Jefferson County COVID numbers keep going up… the Health Department says the COVID status is still RED.

Director Kelley Vollmar went to Facebook on Thursday beating the “stay safe” drum again as we get closer to Thanksgiving.

Meanwhile, in St. Louis, the county and city have enacted restrictions as close to a shutdown as you can get.

Private gatherings, such as house parties, dinners, celebrations, and social events, with more than 10 attendees are now prohibited.

That includes Thanksgiving dinner because there’s no sunset on this.

More restrictions are being placed on restaurants there. Critics say residents will travel to surrounding counties, like Jefferson, who have no major restrictions to shop and eat.

Four new COVID-related deaths were added last week in Jefferson County… the total is now 94. Over the weekend, over 2600 people had the virus throughout the county.

Some schools are currently are “all-virtual” while others return to in person classes on Monday.
