Crystal City annexes property near Festus Airport

(Crystal City) The City of Crystal City has annexed 53 acres of property located near the Festus Memorial Airport for future development. City Administrator Jason Eisenbeis says while there is nothing set as of now, it was a good move by the city council to approve it.

Last month, the Jefferson County Council voted in favor of committing over 7 million dollars for infrastructure costs to develop the land, which has been given the codename of “Redbird”. This project could bring jobs to the county in the future when more details can be worked out.
