(CRYSTAL CITY) Eric Pouvaranukoah has retaken the reigns as softball head coach for Crystal City High School, returning from a 6-year coaching hiatus in which he’s been teaching in the Windsor School District.

Pouvaranukoah had a previous stint with the program from 2007 to 2013. As for this year’s team, Coach Pouvaranukoah likes the offense.

Coach Pouvaranukoah is also quite high on some underclassmen this year.

Even with a lot of young potential contributors, Coach Pouvaranukoah believes that this team has what it takes to some good things.

Crystal City softball has gotten off to a 1-2 start this season with losses to Ste. Genevieve and Valle Catholic and a win over Kingston. Annie Waites has hit one home run and pitched three complete games so far this season. The Hornets will be back in action on Tuesday at home against Meadow Heights at 4:30 p.m.
