(STE. GENEVIEVE) A battle of the Dragons will take place on Friday night between the hosting Ste. Genevieve and the visiting De Soto.

The Dragons from Ste. Gen enter with a record of 5-2, fresh off of a dominating victory over Fredericktown during Senior Night by a score of 54-17.

Meanwhile for De Soto, things were much more dramatic a week ago. They come into the contest with a record of 4-3 after a heart stopping 14-8 win at home against Hillsboro.

The result broke an 11 game losing streak against the Hawks, but De Soto head coach Chris Johnson knows they must leave last week in the past.

On the other sideline, Ste. Gen will be celebrating homecoming this Friday. After successfully navigating through Senior Night just a week ago, head coach Ken Weik says the approach stays the same.

While last week’s result was huge for his De Soto squad, coach Johnson is determined to instill a culture of winning, now in his 3rd season. That does not include settling for a big win against Hillsboro as being the peak of the 2018 season.

With De Soto playing so well, this will be a good chance at a measuring stick game for Ste. Gen. Coach Weik knows how important that is this late in the regular season.

Ste. Gen and De Soto have played each other for 6 consecutive years, with the Dragons of Ste. Gen coming out victorious each and every time.
