Deadly Weekend on Southeast Missouri Highways

(Ste. Genevieve County/Washington County) It was a deadly weekend on the roads in southeast Missouri.

The highway patrol says one person was killed and two others seriously injured in a traffic accident Friday night on I-55 in Ste. Genevieve County.

The patrol says a Jeep Wrangler driven by Michelle Flieg was traveling northbound on 55 when the vehicle she was driving overturned.

Michelle Flieg was killed in the accident and her two passengers, Paul Flieg and Jessica Flieg both have serious injuries.

They were taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.

All three are from Ste. Genevieve.

In another accident, a person was killed and three others injured in a two vehicle crash Friday night in Washington County.

The highway patrol says this one happened on Highway 21 near Golden Road when Douglas Andrea of Cadet lost control of his vehicle on the icy roadway and traveled into the northbound lane, hitting a truck driven by Donte Moore of Kansas City.

Douglas was killed in the accident.

One of his passengers, Jacob Andrea sustained serious injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital South.

Two others suffered minor injuries in the accident.
