DeSoto teenager injured in motorcycle mishap

A DeSoto teenager was injured in a motorcycle accident on Friday morning. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 19-year-old Mitchell Pelker was driving eastbound along Hillsboro Hematite Road, when another vehicle was backing out of a private drive ahead. Pelker steered to the right to avoid the vehicle and ran off the right side of the road, lost control, and was ejected from the 2019 Kawasaki Ninja. Pelker was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson with serious injuries. The accident took place around 6:40 Friday morning.
