Drought is Sliding Back Into Southeast Missouri

(Farmington) Moderate drought conditions have moved into more of the Regional Radio listening area during the last week.

The latest U.S.D.A. Drought Monitor map of Missouri shows moderate drought conditions are now in all of Dent, Jefferson and Shannon counties, most of Crawford, the eastern and northern half of Ste. Genevieve County and the western border of Reynolds County.

In fact, a northeast section of Crawford County is now experiencing severe drought conditions.

Abnormally dry conditions persists in the rest of the listening area but there is still one small area locally that continues to stay at normal levels.

That area includes southern Iron, southern Madison, southwestern Bollinger and northeastern Wayne counties.
