“Elmo” Blum of Herculaneum passes away

(Herculaneum) A well known fixture with several community organizations has passed away. Elmo Blum of Herculaneum passed away on Monday at the age of 99. Blum was a longtime member of the Festus-Crystal City Rotary Club. Fellow Rotarian Scott Harness says he was a special man.

Harness says Blum served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Blum was also a past Master and Secretary of Masonic Lodges #338 in Herculaneum, and Shekinah Lodge #256 in Crystal City and Deputy of the Missouri Grand Lodge and a 55-year member of the Moolah Shrine.

Elmo Blum is survived by his daughters Tonda Breeze of Festus, and Debbie Campbell of DeSoto as well as grandchildren Sean Breeze, Matt Breeze, Seth Blum, and Mollie Baker along with numerous great-grandchildren.
