Farmington Boys Soccer Off To A 6-0 Start
(Farmington) The Farmington (6-0) boys soccer team is undefeated to start the 2023 season. The Knights have six wins and they’ve only given up one goal. That was in a 2-1 win over Cape Notre Dame Thursday evening on the turf at Mineral Area College. Addae Rique is in his 10th year coaching the Knights. He tells us how senior Dustin Randazzo came to score the game-winner with about six minutes left to play.
Coach Rique attributes the one goal allowed this season to his teams’ ability to control the game with, and without, the ball.
Twelve seniors are on the Farmington boys soccer roster this fall. Rique says they have all been tremendous leaders.
We asked coach Rique what those goals are.
The Knights are halfway towards meeting that goal. The man standing in net for the Knights is junior Logan Schaupert.
Coach Rique tells us who has been scoring the goals for Farmington.
Farmington has one captain and a vice captain.
Farmington will host Priory (5-2) this Saturday at noon. Coach Rique says it’s a game the whole team looks forward to.
Coach Rique wanted to take a moment to thank his assistant coaches and youth coaches.
The Farmington Knights will host Saxony Lutheran on Thursday.
