Farmington Girls Fall in District Title Game

(Farmington) The Farmington girls basketball season came to an end with a 58-43 loss to Cape Notre Dame in the Class 5 District 1 Championship game at Black Knight Fieldhouse in Farmington. The Knights came out gunning with six three point makes in the first half. They built an eight point lead. Anna Garner scored right before the first half buzzer and then back to back threes tied the game at 30. Notre Dame focused on getting to the Farmington shooters and 6’2″ freshman Nevaeh Lucious largely eliminated Farmington’s post game with five blocks. Anna Garner scored 17 for Cape Notre Dame. Cape Notre Dame committed 11 turnovers in the first half, but only two in the second half.

10th ranked Farmington closes the year at 22-7. 8th ranked Cape Notre Dame moves to the state quarterfinals at 22-5. They’ll play 2nd ranked John Burroughs on Saturday.
