Farmington Graduate Skylar Sweeney Signs To Play Basketball At Mineral Area College
(Park Hills) Recent Farmington High School grad Skylar Sweeney will stay local for college after signing her National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Mineral Area College in Park Hills. The all-district sharpshooter is excited to be a Lady Cardinal.
MAC head coach Briley Palmer says the connection to Sweeney goes back to her middle school days.
Sweeney doesn’t know many of her new teammates outiside of fellow signee, and South Iron graduate, Maddie Ayers, but she’s looking forward to meeting everyone.
As far as academics go, Sweeney has plans to be an elementary school teacher.
Sweeney prides herself on her leadership qualities. Her new coach can see that in her.
Sweeney wanted to give a shoutout to some of her family members.
Mineral Area College will open their season at home on Wednesday, November 1st against Williams Baptist JV.
