Farmington Hosts Class 6 #10 Jackson Friday Night On KREI

(Farmington) The Farmington Knights are undefeated through two weeks of the high school football season, but they’ll have their biggest challenge yet when the Knights host the Jackson Indians Friday night. You can hear the game on AM-800 KREI and mymoinfo.com.

Farmington has scored a total of 80 points in their two wins over North County and Potosi. Head coach Erik Kruppe is pleased with where his offense is at.

The Jackson Indians are currently 1-1 and ranked 10th in Class Six. Jackson suffered a week one loss to Edwardsville, Illinois, but they bounced back with a win over the reigning Class Five state champions, Francis Howell.

Ryan Nesbitt is in his first year coaching at Jackson High School. He says the Indians are still figuring out who they are.

Nesbitt took over for Brent Eckley, who was recently inducted into the Missouri Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and spent 11 years turning Jackson into a powerhouse program.

Despite the coaching change down south, Kruppe isn’t approaching this game any differently. The Knights did see Jackson in a jamboree this summer.

One test the Knights will have to pass is stopping Jackson’s Adrian Fox. The senior quarterback has put up over 800 yards of total offense through two weeks. Coach Nesbitt says Fox prepared himself to have a strong senior season.

This is a matchup in the SEMO North division. Jackson has won 12 consecutive games against Farmington.

Kickoff is Friday night at 7 p.m. on KREI and mymoinfo.com. The Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show begins at 6 o’clock.
