Farmington Man Arrested for Child Pornography

(Farmington) A Farmington man was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Thursday morning on child pornography charges in St. Francois County.

38-year-old Stephen Curtis Watters of Farmington was taken to the St. Francois County jail and originally charged by the patrol with failure to register as a sex offender, possession of child porn and distribution of child porn.

However, according to Missouri Casenet, the prosecuting attorney’s office charged Watters with three counts of promoting child pornography in the 1st degree and three counts of 1st degree possession of child porn.

His bond has been set at 200-thousand dollars.

If Watters posts bond, he will have to wear a G.P.S. monitoring device and be confined to his home.

However, he would be given several stipulations where he could leave his home.

He would be able to leave his home for work, medical or treatment appointments, visiting his attorney, making his court dates and meeting with his bond supervisor.

Watters would also not be allowed to possess any device that would give him access to the internet.

According to the grand jury complaint, the graphic pictures were of girls between the ages of 7 and 11.

As of right now, no initial court date has been set for Watters.
