(Farmington) Farmington F back Kaesen McClain earned the Applebees Athlete of the Week for our listening area. He joined us at Applebees in Farmington along with his coach and teammates to talk about the honor, the team and the season. McClain rushed 20 times Friday in a 50-18 win over Potosi gaining 292 yards and scoring four touchdowns. McClain took over as the starting running back in week two of his freshman season last year after rushing for over 100 yards in the opener. His coach Erik Kruppe says they knew exactly what they were getting when Kaesen got to high school…

McClain told us that he felt he had a big night shaping up, but he kept his head down and concentrated on his job…

He knows that he doesn’t go anywhere without the guys up front…

McClain also contributed as a defensive end with four tackles including 2.5 for loss. He says he got bigger, faster and stronger this year…

As athlete of the week McClain gets a t-shirt, a certificate and a free entree at Applebees in Farmington. McClain and the Knights open SEMO North play at Jackson Friday night. You can listen to the game on AM 800 KREI.
