Fatal Accidents on a slight decrease in the state from last year at this time

(Jefferson County) The latest news from the Missouri State Highway Patrol is that fatal accidents are down in the state compared to last year, but only slightly.
Corporal Logan Bolton with the Patrol has the official numbers.
Even with the decrease, Corporal Bolton says that’s still a high number of fatal accidents for the year.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is reporting that they were very busy during the recent winter storm.
The latest number show the patrol has responded to 2,679 calls for service.
They’re also reported 1,576 stranded motorists calls, 556 crashes involving 35 injuries and 1 fatality.
The patrol says you can expect those numbers to grow.
