Festus 253 Beats Rock 283 13-5
(IMPERIAL)    Festus American Legion Post 253 sent thirteen batters to the plate in the fifth inning Wednesday night to score 8 runs and take a 12-4 lead over Rock Memorial Post 283 they never relinquished.  The final was 13-5.  Festus was able to jump out to a 4-0 lead in the second with the help of a two RBI Double by Canyon Stout.  Stout finished the game 3 for 4 with three runs batted in and he scored twice.  Nate Moore got the win for 253 but he and the team struggled in the second inning when 283 scored 4 runs to tie the ballgame.
Rock’s big inning was in the second when they sent ten men to the plate.  There were three walks, two hit batters, two errors and one hit. Festus manager Zac Bone says after that, Moore began to settle in.

Bone said the offense did its job.

Rock manager Danny Sigman said getting behind in the fifth came quickly.

Festus improves to 17-6, they are to play in Cape Girardeau Thursday morning at ten o’clock against Charleston.  Rock Memorial slips to 7-11 and is scheduled to play the Jefferson County Blazers Thursday afternoon.  Festus 253 and Rock 283 will face each other again on Wednesday July 5th at Jefferson R-7.  We’ll bring you that game on KJFF and mymoinfo.com beginning with the Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show at 6:45p.
