Festus Beats Seckman 6-5

(IMPERIAL)    Festus Tigers senior left handed pitcher Ian Brown finished rehabbing an arm injury and started Wednesday’s game against Seckman as the Tigers beat the Jaguars 6-5. Brown was a mainstay of last year’s staff and helped the Tigers to get to the state championship game. Festus Coach Jeff Montgomery says Brown got the Tigers off to a good start against the Jaguars.

According to Montgomery, sophomore Mason Schirmer came up with a big hit late in the game.

Montgomery says the middle of the Tigers lineup kept the offense in motion.

Festus is now 12-5, Seckman slips to 10-9. The Tigers will host the 10-3 Hillsboro Hawks Thursday and then will play at Hillsboro on Friday, a game you can listen to on KJFF and mymoinfo.com. Meanwhile Thursday, Seckman will entertain the 7-7 Oakville Tigers.
