Festus R-6 schools prepare for Childhood Center opening

(Festus) The Festus R-6 School District continues to prepare for the opening of the Early Childhood Center. Festus schools purchased the Wee Care Learning Center on American Legion Drive in November of 2021. Superintendent Dr. Nicki Ruess says they’ve made some changes and updates to the facility recently.
Dr. Ruess says are getting things ready to open their doors later this year.
The Festus Early Childhood Center will be for pre-school age children within the district, will be opening at the start of the 2023-24 school year this August. The five-acre property includes the over 24-thousand square foot building.
