Festus R-6 Will Cancel School On Thursday Due To City Water Work

(FESTUS) The City of Festus will be addressing some ongoing water problems tomorrow (Thursday). Areas like Edgewood Court, Edgewood, Mid-Meadow, Rosemary, and Orchard Lanes have had a discoloring of water for some time. City Administrator Greg Camp says a company will be coming in to perform a process called “ice pigging” to help take care of some of those issues.

Due to the scheduled work on the water system, the Festus R-6 School District has decided to cancel school tomorrow (Thursday) as well. That’s according to Festus Coordinator of Communications and Special Events Kevin Pope.

The “ice pigging” work at Edgewood Court, Edgewood, Mid-Meadow, Rosemary, and Orchard Lanes will begin tomorrow (Thursday). Area residents are encouraged to contact Public Works at 636-937-6646 with any questions or concerns.
