Festus Winterfest and Santa House have been canceled

(Festus) After careful consideration and the continued rise in Covid-19 positive cases, the City of Festus has canceled the annual Winterfest and the opening of the Santa House next month. Barb Lowry with Festus Public Works says with the way things have been trending, canceling the events had to happen.

The Santa House would have opened on the Saturday of Winterfest with several dates over the following weeks to be open to the public for children to meet with Santa. Lowry says the Santa House will still be located in Schnieder Park, but Santa will have to stay safe in the North Pole.

Lowry says the vendors and entertainment have been contacted about the cancellation. Winterfest would have held on Saturday, December 5th.
