Firefighters put out blaze outside of Hillsboro Food Pantry

(Hillsboro) Firefighters were able to extinguish a blaze fairly quickly on Tuesday morning, avoiding any extensive damage occurring to the building housed by the Hillsboro Food Pantry.

Hillsboro Fire Protection District Chief Brian Gaudet says they received the call just before 6:30am for pallets that had caught fire outside the Hillsboro Food Pantry.

According to Chief Gaudet, there was minor damage to the outside of the food pantry; however, nothing major that would interrupt business operations.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental in nature.

The fire was extinguished with the scene being wrapped up roughly before 7:30am on Tuesday.

The Hillsboro Fire Protection District was assisted by the De Soto City Fire Department, De Soto Rural, Dunklin, Antonia, Goldman, and Mapaville Fire Protection District’s.

Valle Ambulance District was on scene to provide medical aid if needed.
