Former MAC Volleyball Player Shelby Meyer Dies

Tragedy has fallen on the Mineral Area College volleyball program as former NJCAA All-American and Cardinal player from 2017 to 2019, Shelby Meyer has died. The Columbia Police Department release says that she fell after climbing a ladder to reach the top of an apartment building. Shelby was brought to a local emergency room but died from the injuries sustained in the fall. Mineral Area College released this statement this afternoon. “We are saddened to hear of the loss of former Mineral Area College volleyball player Shelby Meyer. We offer our most sincere condolences to her family, friends, coaches and teammates. They will be in our thoughts and prayers during this unimaginably difficult time.” She was 21.
