Fredericktown Dream Teamer Marler Leads Blackcat Turnaround
(Park Hills) It was no coincidence that the longer Garrett Marler played on the Fredericktown baseball team the better the Blackcats got. COVID wiped out his freshman season and then the Cats went only 1-21 when Garrett was a sophomore. The huge turnaround came his junior year when Fredericktown went 10-12. Marler led the team to an 11-11 mark this year with Fredericktown being much more competitive against some high level teams. Marler was proud of his role as a leader…

Garrett crushed the ball this year. He tied the school record with a .500 batting average and slugged .935. Marler hit as many home runs as he had strike outs with six.

The area coaches voted Marler onto the Regional Radio Dream Team, a distinction Marler was hoping to achieve
