Fredericktown Football Offers Custom Helmet Option

(FREDERICKTOWN) The Fredericktown Blackcats held a football information meeting Friday night. One of the topics discussed was an opportunity for players and their families to purchase a custom-fitted helmet. Blackcats football coach Steve Williams tells us more.
The price of a custom helmet is around one thousand dollars, but that number could drop if more families opt in to the program. One of the reasons for the high price tag is the player safety technology that comes with the helmet, which is common in NCAA D-1 football and the NFL.
The school will take care of storage and reconditioning of the helmets every offseason, and the players who purchase them can keep them when they finish their time as a Blackcat football player. So far, fourteen players will wear custom helmets next football season.
