Fudge Eating Championship This Weekend in Uranus

(Uranus) You can now add a new food to the list of eating competitions.

The inaugural Fudge Eating Contest is being held in the Village of Uranus in Pulaski County.

It is sanctioned by the International Federation of Competitive Eating.

That’s the same body that sanctions the annual hot dog eating competition on July 4th at Coney Island in New York.

Competitive eaters from the U.S. and at least one from Australia are expected to take part in the Missouri event, with a prize purse of $5,000.

The first-place finisher gets 25-hundred, with cash prizes for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th places.

The fudge eating championship in Uranus is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 1 at the Uranus Fudge Factory on historic Route 66, just off I-44 near Fort Leonard Wood.
