Grandview girls’ basketball full of new faces

(Hillsboro) There’s going to be a lot different about Grandview Eagles girls’ basketball this year.

The top 3 scorers and 4 senior starters have departed, and Tim Winkler takes over the program after a 4-year hiatus from coaching.

But Winker is trying to look on the upside of working with a young team in his first year.

One returner who could become a star is 6-foot sophomore Anna Belle Wakeland, who averaged almost 7 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks after a surge in the second half of her freshman season.

Winkler says the signs are already there that he has a star in the making.

Grandview bounced back from losses in the first 2 games with the win over Oak Ridge.
