Hail Damage Reported In Southern Jefferson County

(JEFFERSON COUNTY) The Thursday afternoon thunderstorms resulted in multiple tornado warnings and some areas of Jefferson County had some good-sized hail. Several residents received damage to vehicles and even broken or cracked windshields. Derek Hux with Huxco Construction in Crystal City says the hail size varied in different regions of the county.

Hux says he was informed of roof damage to some homes.

While hail, high winds, and a good amount of thunder and lightning were reported, the rainfall total at KJFF was less than a half inch. However, other areas of Jefferson County experienced more rainfall.

Sunny skies and mild temperatures are expected for the next several days, with the first chance of additional rain on Wednesday night and Thursday.
