(HERCULANEUM) The Herculaneum boys cross country team finished in 4th place at the Class 3 state meet on Saturday in Jefferson City, tallying 134 points. At the top of the list for the Blackcats was junior Jonathon Coffman, who finished 6th with a time of 16:40, making him all-state for the 3rd year in a row.

Head coach Kyle Davis talks about Coffman’s reaction to finishing where he did.

Coach Davis’ only senior, Jacob Arnold, took 66th in the race after finishing 26th last season. Davis says that despite finishing lower this year, he believes Arnold is destined for great things.

Then there is Nautica Stricklin, senior for the Herky girls cross country team, who made history earlier this season when she became the first runner ever to win 1st place at the JCAA Conference meet for all four years. At state, Nautica finished 10th with a time of 20:21, making her All-State for the 4th time.

The 4th place Herky boys cross country team will be returning All-Stater Coffman as well as Kyle Vinyard, Cody Glisson, Matt Bartosch, Colton Parrish, and Austin Jackson.
