(HERCULANEUM) The Herculaneum girls basketball team has been preparing for the upcoming season just like all the winter sports teams in the area. The Lady Blackcats are coming off a tremendous season a year ago with a 21-3 record but lost a large group of seniors to graduation.

Head Coach Riley Blair says this year’s team is rather young.

Coach Blair says with many underclassmen getting their first chance at varsity competition should have them motivated to have success.

The Herculaneum girls basketball team opens the season on Monday night with a visit to Windsor. The Herculaneum Blackcat Hoopsters held a trivia night over the weekend and raised $6,100 for the girls and boys basketball programs.
