High Ridge firefighter injured while on scene of a residential fire

(House Springs) A firefighter with the High Ridge Fire Protection District was injured on scene of a house fire in the 4200 block of Hickory Lane in House Springs on Sunday morning.

According to a report, crews responded to the fire and when they arrived, it was unknown if the residence was occupied.

Firefighters entered the residence, and while searching for possible victims the floor failed and one firefighter fell into the basement.

Additional crews quickly entered the basement and rescued the firefighter, who was transported to an area hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office.

High Ridge fire was assisted by Antonia, Cedar Hill and Eureka Fire Protection Districts as well as Big River Ambulance District.
