High Ridge Man Sentenced in Domestic Violence Case

A High Ridge man has been sentenced to prison in a domestic assault case from 2019.

In May of this year a Jefferson County Jury found Juan P. Madrigal Jr. of High Ridge guilty of Domestic Assault in the First Degree resulting in Serious Physical Injury, Domestic Assault in the Second Degree and Tampering with a Victim in a Felony Prosecution.

On April 5, 2019, Madrigal struck the victim in the face with his hand as well as strangling her repeatedly causing her to black out.

On or about April 15, 2019, Madrigal called the victim from the Jefferson County Jail and attempted to convince the victim not to cooperate with prosecution.

On Wednesday Judge Melenbrink sentenced Madrigal to 25 years in Department of Corrections as to the Domestic Assault in the First Degree, 7 years in the Department of Corrections as to the Domestic Assault in the Second Degree and 7 years in the Department of Corrections as to the Tampering with a Victim.

As to the Domestic Assault in the First Degree, Madrigal will be required to serve 85% of the sentence.

All counts are to be run concurrent.
