(Ironton) Monday evening’s snow event was insignificant as far as snow totals go.

However, the cold weather with that small amount of snow stuck to the roads quickly, causing very slick roads in some spots.

Iron County Sheriff Roger Medley says it was unexpected.

Another round of snow is in the forecast for later this week.

Sheriff Medley says if you slide your vehicle off in a ditch in these rural areas like most of Iron County, make sure you are prepared to stay there a while until you are discovered by authorities.

Snow could begin falling in the overnight hours Wednesday night.

It could continue on and off until about midnight Friday night.

Right now, the National Weather Service says we could get around 3 inches of snow.

A Winter Weather Advisory will go in effect Wednesday evening at 6 for most of the listening area and will stay in effect until Thursday at noon.
