Iron County Sheriff Battling Another Round of Covid-19

(Ironton) The sheriff of Iron County is back at home after being hospitalized with another bad case of Covid-19.

A news release from the sheriff’s department Facebook page says Sheriff Jeff Burkett is battling complications from another bout with the coronavirus.

He’s currently getting needed rest at home and will be checking in periodically with his doctor for the next several days.

No word on when Sheriff Burkett will return to actively leading the Iron County Sheriff’s Department.

Last year, Sheriff Burkett was in the hospital on a ventilator for close to four months while fighting Covid-19.
