JCSO and Rock Township Ambulance District Joint Building Has Selected a Builder and Sets a Groundbreaking Ceremony date

(IMPERIAL) The joint building that will house a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office substation, and a Rock Township Ambulance District house, has their builder and a date for ground to be broken this spring. Rock Township Chief Jerry Appleton says they started the process of relocating their ambulance houses back in 2017.

Appleton says they began looking at constructing a new ambulance house on Lions Den Road in the Seckman Valley and possibly working with one of the neighboring fire districts on a building for both entities. However, discussions didn’t move very favorably. Then a conversation with Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak got the ball rolling on a building that would benefit both of their organizations.

After getting through the design phase of the project, the next step was to hire the builder for the structure, and Chief Appleton says they found their contractor.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the building will take place on April 11th. The total cost of building the structure is around $7.5 million dollars and it will take a little over a year to be completed.
