(Hillsboro) While the Jefferson County Health Department has apologized for the confusion surrounding the mandatory mask-wearing ordinance last week, Covid-19 cases continue to rise and remain at 40 to 50 new cases daily.

Health Department Director Kelley Vollmar quoted in a press release on Monday stating….”I don’t believe we made a mistake on the agenda for Sunshine, but we would rather have residents comfortable that we are being transparent and open, so we recalled the document”.

However, those cases continue to happen and the JCHD has been spending a lot of time contact tracing according to Vollmar.

On Tuesday, The Jefferson County Health Department was notified of 44 new positive cases for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the county. This brings the total number of positive cases to 2,857 in Jefferson County. Of those 2,857, 746 are active, with 2,055 recoveries, and 46 deaths. 478 of those positive cases have been at long term care facilities.
