Jefferson County Health Department Board Censures Davis, Again

(HILLSBORO)    Jefferson County Health Department Board of Trustees member Suzy Davis says she is considering her options after being censured a second time by three of her fellow board members.   The recent censure was part of the April 27th board meeting.  The censure is centered on complaints filed by two health department employees who alleged intimidation by Davis.  Following the complaints, health department attorney Christi Coleman sought an outside firm to conduct an investigation into the complaints.  Following the findings of the investigation, the board voted 3-2 for the censure.

Board Chairman Tim Pigg says the censure is backed by the results of the investigation.

Meanwhile, Davis believes her problems stem from having differing opinions than those of certain employees of the health department and the majority of the Board of Trustees.

The censure instructs Davis to adhere to all bylaws, rules and procedures of the board of trustees. Davis was further advised that a failure to perform her duties pursuant to the bylaws may result in the board taking action to impeach and remove her from her position.
