Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office adds a second Mental Health Coordinator

(Hillsboro) Earlier this year, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office added a second Mental Health Coordinator to their staff to aid in the increasing number of calls that calls for those services. Austin Schwent was brought in to help in that effort. He says he brings a great deal of experience on a few different levels.

Lisa Flamion has been a Mental Health Coordinator for the Sheriff’s Office for a few years now. She says the number of calls for service has been difficult to handle with just one person in that office.

Flamion says they can now divide their efforts.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and if anyone needs help or advice concerning mental health can contact the Sheriff’s Office at (636) 797-5000.
