Jefferson Football Takes on St. Vincent for I-55 Conference Championship
The Jefferson Blue Jays football team is fresh off a blowout loss to Ste. Genevieve, but still have a chance at the I-55 Conference crown. To get there, they’ll have to defeat the 5-3 St. Vincent Indians, who have won four of their last five matchups – all in blowout fashion. Both teams have a 5-0 record in the I-55 Conference this year.
Jefferson head coach Matt Atley says the team has battled aversity this week. They’ve had to have difficult conversations and make some adjustments after the performance last week. He also is not sure if wide receiver Nate Breeze will be able to return from injury this week. Despite all of that, the Blue Jays have a lot to play for this week.

St. Vincent won the I-55 Conference title last year, but their lone conference loss was a three-score defeat at the hands of Jefferson. Coach Schumer is excited about the opportunity to meet their preseason goal, but has not forgotten about the last meeting between the Indians and Blue Jays.

Jefferson will face St. Vincent on Friday night at 7. You can listen to that game on J-98 and mymoinfo.com.
