Jefferson R7 Making Group Effort to Have Successful 2019 in Volleyball

(FESTUS) The Jefferson R-7 volleyball program is coming off a unique 2018 season. In it, head coach Ashleigh Nagel stepped down after suffering a heart attack in the summer; eight seniors and interim head coach Tara Fish led the Blue Jays to a couple of firsts for the program which included a defeat of rival St. Pius and the most wins in a single season with 30.

With the interim tag removed, Coach Fish now has the full reigns. For her, it’s been a range of emotions.

Also helping out the volleyball team is Tara’s daughter and one of the eight seniors last year, Gracie Fish, as well as her 2018 teammates Jenna Curtois and Maddie Fuller. Even Coach Fish’s oldest daughter, Hilah Fish, is helping to coach the team.

As for an official look at who the Blue Jays have on the team going into 2019, here’s Coach Fish again.

First serve of the Jefferson Blue Jays volleyball season will be Tuesday, September 3rd at Seckman. The first home game is Monday, September 9th versus Kingston.
