King Earns Dream Team Honors After Final Season with Ellington Boys Basketball

(Ellington) It was another solid campaign for the Ellington boys basketball team and their standout senior helped lead the way.

Brycen King excelled once again for the Whippets on the hardwood and was named to the Boys Basketball Dream Team.

He says he appreciates the recognition.

King did a little bit of everything for the Ellington boys this season as he averaged over 23 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, shot 33% from beyond the arc, and 73% from the free-throw line.

This was a difficult year across the board, and high school athletes were not immune to the challenges of competing during a global pandemic.

King says he was proud of the way the team handled everything that was thrown at them.

The Whippets’ boys basketball team has been competitive throughout King’s tenure, and they have managed to finish above .500 all four years he was a part of the team.

He says he knows a big part of the team’s success has been the unwavering support from the Ellington fans.

This season King earned his third-straight All-BRL and All-BSC selections, second-straight All-District selection, and helped lead the Whippets to a (13-10) record.

He also finished his career with 1,770 points scored.
