Kingston Baseball faces Cross-County Rival Valley Tuesday Evening
(CALEDONIA) The Kingston Cougars baseball team travels to Caledonia Tuesday evening for a rematch with the Valley Vikings. The two teams last played just eleven days ago in a game where Valley won 12-1. The Vikings were just handed their only loss of the season last week against Bismarck and enter Tuesday’s contest at 6-1. Although Valley already has a big win over Kingston on their resumé, Valley manager Trent Hartley says his team needs to stay focused.

Kingston has already played 14 games this season. They fell to West County 11-1 on Monday, which drops their record to 7-7. Before that, the Cougars won four of their last five, with the lone loss coming against Bismarck in an 8-inning affair. Cougars manager Kyle Nettles shares his scouting report on Valley.

The Cougars are set to face the Viking’s ace, Ayden Sims, who is set to get the start on the mound. Hartley says his arm could be a key to a Valley victory.

Nettles says the difference between wins and losses is the play of his defense.

The Cougars play Valley in Caledonia this evening at 5:30. You can listen to the game on AM-800 KREI, with coverage beginning at 5:15.
